November and December 2023

November

KMQG met on Saturday November 18, 2023

Charity Quilts

We saw three charity quilts in various states of completion made with blocks constructed by members.

The polka dot star quilt has been completed - pieced, assembled, quilted, and bound.

Sandy and Elizabeth used surplus polka dot star blocks to construct a second quilt top which will now go for quilting - watch this space for the completed quilt.

Another quilt which we saw as a completed top last month has been quilted and has now gone for binding - look out for a picture of that when it's all finished.

November Show & Tell

As usual, an inspiring and very varied collection of members' projects.

Melissa with an example of Improvisation, which was the element of Modern Quilting that we discussed at this meeting

Melissa also showed a great example of using up 'orphan' blocks to make a wall hanging

September 2023 Meeting

KMQG met on Saturday 16 September.

We continued our discussions about features and characteristics of Modern Quilting, looking at some examples of high contrast and graphic use of color.

We saw one of Restoration House Project charity quilts pieced and quilted.  The brief for this quilt was to make a star block using one of the spotted fabrics that was provided.  It's great to see the variety of blocks.  We look forward to seeing it bound and completed.

As usual, we had an inspiring collection of projects in the Show&Tell.
