At our August meeting, we welcomed
Kelly Spell of the Chattanooga Modern Quilt Guild for a talk about her quilt design process and a trunk show of her fish-inspired quilts. But first, we covered a bit of business and had show and tell. Here's the news:
Instructions have been sent out for our next charity block collection for a Restoration House quilt. We're using the
Modern Pine Trees pattern created by Faith Jones of Fresh Lemons Quilts for Bernina's We All Sew blog. Blocks should have a white background paired with two shades (light and dark) of a colored solid fabric.
Submissions for QuiltCon 2019 are open through November 30, and we'd love to see some KMQG member quilts hanging at the show! Go to
https://www.quiltcon.com/submit-a-quilt/ for information.
Our next meeting is Saturday, September 15. We'll start the meeting at 10:30 (come at 10:15 to catch up during social time), and after business and show and tell, there will be a Tumbling Blocks Fabric Weaving workshop with Melissa Everett from 11-1. Use
this form to sign up for the workshop through August 31.
