February 2020 Meeting Recap

We had a fun-filled morning at our February meeting. In addition to the usual business, we incorporated a round of quilting-related icebreaker questions into show & tell. It was a fun way to learn a bit more about our members. Expect to see more of this at future meetings. We also welcomed three new members to our group who we're looking forward to getting to know better!

Now, for Show & Tell...

Barn Quilt Workshop with Suzi Parron

The KMQG is hosting a barn quilt painting workshop on March 14, 2020, with Suzi Parron, and there are still some open spots available. Suzi has written two books about barn quilts and travels all over the country leading these workshops. We will be painting 2-x-2-foot wooden boards with large quilt block designs. You can see some examples and get more information about Suzi here: http://www.barnquiltinfo.com/suzi.htm

Details:
  • The workshop is Saturday, March 14, 2020, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
  • It will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 6500 S Northshore Dr, Knoxville, TN 37919.
  • Light snacks and drinks will be available, but attendees should bring their own lunch, etc. if desired.
  • The cost of the workshop is $50 for KMQG members (or other Modern Quilt Guild members) and $65 for non-members. This amount is due upon registration, and payment options are listed on the form linked below.
  • The workshop fee is nonrefundable, but you may find someone to take your spot and reimburse you if you're unable to attend after registering.
  • In addition, Suzi will collect a $35 kit fee (cash preferred) from attendees at the start of the workshop.
Registration will close on Saturday, February 15, and all workshop fees must be received by that time.

Please use this form to submit your registration (https://forms.gle/AbYaMsFtUc84f78w8), and then follow up as soon as possible with payment to ensure your spot. The workshop organizers will communicate plans with attendees after the registration period ends.
