October Meeting Recap

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our October meeting!

This month we began wrapping up the Modern Mini Challenge. Members were invited to take an inspiration picture of an architectural, building, or structural design element and create a mini quilt using at least two design elements of modern quilting. We will be wrapping up the Modern Mini Challenge in November.

Here are some of the minis we got to see this month and the images that inspired them:

This month's Featured Freebie was presented by Elizabeth Rea. She shared the Generations Quilt Patterns tutorial for paper piecing an Economy quilt block. The link for this tutorial, along with previous Featured Freebies can be found on our Featured Freebies page.

Our October Member in the Spotlight is Sandy Donoho. You can read all about Sandy in this post.

Members, if you are interested in sharing a sewing or quilting related tutorial or being featured in our Member Spotlight series, please reach out to Elizabeth or Sarah respectively by emailing them at modknoxville@gmail.com.

We continued the Elements of Modern Quilting series with a presentation on High Contrast & Graphic Areas of Solid Color from Misty Benson. Members who were unable to join us at the meeting should check their emails for a link to the presentation.
